Support Main and its member libraries

Libraries are at the heart of our communities – a resource for people of any age to find what they need to help improve their quality of life. Libraries also are expanding beyond their traditional roles and providing more opportunities for community engagement and delivering new services that connect closely with patrons’ needs. Libraries are committed to advancing their legacy of reading and developing a digitally inclusive society.

Libraries matter, now more than ever.

Libraries are much more than buildings full of books; they are at the heart of our communities and serve as gathering places.

Why Main?

Focus on Equity

Libraries are a resource for people of any age or educational level to find what they need to help improve their quality of life.

Supporting Our Local Communities

Our libraries have been expanding beyond their traditional roles and providing more opportunities for community engagement delivering new services that connect closely with patrons’ needs.

Access for all

Public libraries play a distinct role in promoting digital equity across the United States. As public libraries offer free access to the internet and digital resources, they have become a lifeline for people who cannot afford these services. By offering free and reliable Wi-Fi, libraries help to strengthen their role in the community as an essential source of information and learning.
