Position: Library Assistant

(Part/Time)

The Boonton Holmes Public Library located in northern Morris County (I-287) has an opening for a part-time Library Assistant position at the circulation desk.

We are seeking a candidate who is able to work weekend hours, and can fill in hours as a substitute. The position will require a candidate who can keep a flexible schedule on a weekly basis.

The successful applicant must be dependable, able to provide excellent customer service, is a team player, task oriented, and have basic computer skills.

Responsibilities include charging and discharging materials, placing holds, assisting patrons in locating materials, responding to phone inquiries, shelving and other duties as required. Additional duties will be assigned as needed. The position requires lifting, bending, and carrying library materials.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Some library or other work experience is a plus. Computer skills are essential. Salary is 11.40 per hour.

The Boonton Holmes Public Library is covered by Civil Service regulations. The position includes pro-rated vacation and sick leave. Employment offers are conditional upon a successful background and reference check.
